Rising Stars was an innovative project which aimed to support 20 young Egyptian filmmakers in the domain of documentary filmmaking.
After having token part to capacity building workshops on (I) Directing (II) Scriptwriting (III) Photography (IV) Sound and (V) Editing, the talented participants created their own short documentary movies.
The first edition of the MASRY ASLY ITINERANT FILM FESTIVAL concluded the 60 days workshops, that framed the screening of Egyptian and International short documentaries that brought together filmmaking experts and fans on a single ground in 3 Egyptian cities: Cairo, Port Said and Minya.
Rising Stars was a project initiated by Ricerca e Cooperazione and SEMAT; co-funded by the European Union, in cooperation with Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Institut Français, Instituto Cervantes, Baad El Bahr Association, the Jesuit Association in Minya.
